About Dubai Sports City
Dubai Sports City is a 50-million-square-foot sports-centric residential and commercial master community in Dubai's Al Hebiah Fourth district, built around world-class athletic facilities.
Overview and History
Dubai Sports City (DSC) was founded in 2004 as a joint venture project valued at approximately USD 4 billion, master-developed by Dubai Sports City LLC. Spearheaded by UAE entrepreneurs Abdul Rahim Al Zarooni and Abdulrahman Falaknaz, the development officially broke ground in 2004 and began handovers in 2008. Situated along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, it was designed around major sport-specific precincts rather than a single central retail hub.
Residential Districts
The community is composed of three distinct residential districts: Victory Heights, a prestigious seven-village gated community featuring over 1,000 luxury villas and townhouses wrapping around the Els Club fairways; Canal Residence (or Canal Residence West), a series of mid-rise apartment blocks overlooking a 1.2 to 1.5 km scenic canal; and Gallery Villas, a smaller neighborhood comprising 50 townhomes and standalone villas with golf course views. Numerous third-party developers, including Danube, Samana, Binghatti, and LEOS, are driving a wave of off-plan projects in the area.
Sports Infrastructure and Amenities
As a premier destination for athletic pursuits, Dubai Sports City anchors its identity with the 25,000-seat Dubai International Cricket Stadium (opened in 2009), the Ernie Els-designed 18-hole championship Els Club, the ICC Academy training complex, and Rugby Park. It also features the Inspiratus Sports District (ISD) multi-sport complex and the FitRepublik fitness center, as well as highly rated academic establishments such as the Victory Heights Primary School and Renaissance School.
