Overview and Community Identity
Madinat Al Mataar is the official community name designated by the Dubai Municipality under statistical code 521. Frequently referred to interchangeably with Dubai South or its former title, Dubai World Central (DWC), the area comprises approximately 75.7 to 142 square kilometers in southwestern Dubai. Initially proposed in 2005, the district has transformed from a desert expanse into a major commercial, logistics, aviation, and residential node centered around Al Maktoum International Airport.
Residential Districts and Main Projects
The community contains several major sub-developments and projects. Key residential zones include Emaar South, which is integrated with an 18-hole championship golf course and features extensive townhouse and villa developments. The Dubai South Residential District hosts projects such as The Pulse and the premium South Bay master development, which features townhouses, villas, and mansions built around a large crystal lagoon. The area is also seeing new off-plan launches like Azizi Venice—a massive waterfront lagoon development—and Inara Residence by Imtiaz Developments. Completed developments include the 10-storey serviced hotel apartment building, Damac Maison de Ville Tenora.
